Sailors Day
Duration: all day; Price: 40,00€/person; Minimum Group: 10 people
In the morning:
- An itinerary through the Fisherman’s Wharf, learning about the different types of fishing ships.
- Visit to the Fish Market and the Fishermen’s Guild.
- Visit to the traditional Basque fishing ship MATER. Getting deep into the boat, we will learn more about the fisherman’s life on the sea; the fishing periods, the main species, the fishing tools…..As supplement: It is possible to take an aperitif with a drink on board.
- Visit to the old town of Pasaia San Pedro.
- Visit to the installations of the Traditional Rowing Club SANPEDROTARRAK. There we could learn about the Basque sailor’s history knowing the different boats that they use now in the sport: the batela, trainerilla and trainerua. Finally we could tribe rowing in the club itself.
- Using the service of the transport of the small boat that crosses the bay, we will reach the other side of Pasai San Juan or Donibane.
Maritime lunch in a restaurant with sea views in Pasai Donibane/San Juan.
In the Afternoon:
- Visit to the old town of Pasai Donibane/ San Juan.
- Visit to the museum of VICTOR HUGO HOUSE.
- Guided boat trip through the bay. We will visit all the port and the cliffs of Jaizkibel.
- Visit to Ondartxo, center of the maritime culture (optional, not included on the price).
